Lawrence D. "Larry" Frey, 50, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 27, 1950, at Sikeston, son of Stanford and Alma Miller Frey. He and Ann Essner were married Nov. 25, 1977, in Cape Girardeau.

Frey was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in history from Southeast Missouri State University.

He was a teacher at St. Vincent's Grade School four years. For the past 20 years he had worked for the Cape Girardeau County Mapping and Appraisal Division in Jackson. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Matt Frey of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Jenny Frey of Cape Girardeau; his parents of Scott City; three brothers, Charles and Michael Frey of Scott City, David Frey of Euless, Texas; and a sister, Carolyn Matthews of Bethany, Okla.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7 and Knights of Columbus Council 1111 will recite the rosary at 7:30.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
