ELCO, Ill. -- Larry Dickerson, 62, of Elco died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at his home.
He was born Aug. 13, 1941, in Elco, youngest of eight children born to James Monroe and Mary Marie Neace Dickerson. He and Janet Kunsman were married June 12, 1964.
Mr. Dickerson was a Christian and worshipped at Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jonesboro, Ill. He celebrated six years of life after receiving a double lung transplant in September 1997. Before his illness he was a truck driver with Willis Trucking and Jordan Trucking.
Survivors include his wife and companion, Janet Sue Dickerson of Elco; a son, George (Dana) Dickerson of Jackson; a daughter, Deana (John) Wyatt of Frankfort, Ky.; four grandchildren, Trent and Taylor Dickerson, John and Stephen Wyatt; a brother, Lester (Lois) Dickerson of Lick Creek, Ill.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Lester Eugene Dickerson; three sisters, Juanita Mowery, Irene Myers and Rosemary Sibley; three brothers, Luther James Dickerson, Homer Dickerson and John Dickerson.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and Sunday after 1 p.m. at Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle, with the Rev. David Adams and the Rev. John Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mid-America Transplant or Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle Building Fund.
