SIKESTON, Mo. -- Larry "Big D" Diamond, 62, of Sikeston died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 3, 1940, at Benton, Mo., son of Wayne and Oma Hopkins Diamond. He and Karen Kappler were married April 16, 1960, at Benton.
An over-the-road truck driver 30 years, he had worked for ABF, Elfrink, and retired from USF Holland. He had also worked at Aufdenberg Equipment Co. He was a member of Bement Baptist Church, and Teamsters Local 574 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lloyd Diamond of Cape Girardeau, Jessie Diamond of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Judy Diamond of St. Louis; two sisters, Norma Kidd of Edwardsville, Ill., Fern Schreckenberg of Leopold, Mo.; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery at Benton.
