SIKESTON, Mo. -- Larry F. Burden, 60, of Sikeston died Monday, April 15, 2002, at his home.

He was born March 8, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, son of Harold G. and Eleanor C. Williams Burden. He and Jane Bollinger were married April 24, 1965, at Benton, Mo.

Burden was a 1960 graduate of Charleston High School. From 1969-80 he was co-owner of Burden and McClung Electric Co. He was an electrical and maintenance planner for Noranda Aluminum 21 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

He was an airman first class with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, and played on the U.S. Air Force Falcons baseball team in Japan.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jon Burden of Sikeston; two daughters, Lari Burden of Merced, Calif., Kari Dorris of Sikeston; his mother, Eleanor Bridwell of Sikeston; a brother, Jim Burden of Sikeston; a sister, Sue Harris of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with the Rev. Stephen Schneider officiating. The Rev. Tom Geers will give the eulogy. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
