COBDEN, Ill. -- Larry Bevil, 49, of Cobden died Thursday, Dec. 12, 1996, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion, following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 22, 1947, in Anna, son of Dennis Lewis and Georgia Norton Smith. He and Linda Foster were married Nov. 28, 1985.
Bevil had been chief housing inspector for Missouri Public Service Commission since 1974. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna, and past president of Anna Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Monica Holshouser of Tamms; a son, Rod McIntosh of Ft. Myers, Fla.; three brothers, Ron Bevil of Joliet, Dan Bevil of Anna, Larry Smith of Kansas City; three sisters, Denise Robertson of Camdenton, Linda Barry of Kansas City, and Tammy Lea of Reno, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday from 8:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Moriah Church, with the Rev. Rick Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery, with military rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
