ARBOR -- Funeral service for Lanson W. Cox of Arbor will be held at 2 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Revs. Bob Bradford and Naamon Eaker will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park, with graveside rites by Advance VFW Post 7750.
Cox, 62, died Sunday, April 20, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 29, 1934, at Advance, son of Lloyd and Myrtle Kidd Cox. He and Margret Ittner were married Jan. 7, 1967, in Smithton, Ill.
Cox was a farmer, and attended Arbor General Baptist Church. He was a member of National Cutting Horse and American Quarter Horse Associations. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James and Jeff Cox of Arbor; three brothers, Raymond Cox of Chaffee, Charles Cox of Whitewater, Glen Cox of Delta; three sisters, Helen Musgraves and Gladys Cox of Centralia, and Pauline Bullinger of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.
