SCOTT CITY -- Lance Edward Sterling, son of Peggy Carr and Richard Ogden, was born Oct. 8, 1976, in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 44. Lance "Junior" liked hunting, shop time, watching the Cardinals, having a drink or two with his close friends and family and beating everyone at darts with one good eye. His children were his pride and joy. They were always able to bring a smile to his face...

SCOTT CITY -- Lance Edward Sterling, son of Peggy Carr and Richard Ogden, was born Oct. 8, 1976, in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 44.

Lance "Junior" liked hunting, shop time, watching the Cardinals, having a drink or two with his close friends and family and beating everyone at darts with one good eye. His children were his pride and joy. They were always able to bring a smile to his face.

Apart from his parents, Sterling is survived by his significant other, Ashley Harris of the home in Scott City; two sons: Benjamin Sterling and Justin Barkley, both of Jackson; one daughter, Taylor Sterling of Jackson; three brothers, Russell (Anita) Sterling of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Jeremy Sterling of Springfield, Missouri, Brandon Ogden of New Madrid, Missouri; and one sister Kayleigh Ogden of Kansas City, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward Benjamin Carr and Patricia Marie Carr

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, with the prayer service starting at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a,m, on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Interment will follow at the Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
