STURDIVANT -- Funeral service for Lambert J. Laramie of Sturdivant will be held at 2 p.m. today at White-Mullen Mortuary Chapel in Ferguson. The Rev. Gary Gebelein will officiate, with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at Florissant.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to service time.

Morgan Funeral Home in Advance was in charge of local arrangements.

Laramie, 70, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 30, 1926, in Florissant, son of Arnold and Theresa Toebben Laramie. He and Betty Welter were married Oct. 24, 1987, at Sturdivant.

Laramie was a retired concrete contractor, and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Lambert Laramie Jr. of High Hill; two daughters, Sharon Oakley and Charlene Smith of St. Charles; three stepdaughters, Debbie Dirnberger, Rhonda Hurst and Nancy Abernathy, all of Oran; two sisters, Gladys Kuhlmann of O'Fallon, Sylvia Allen of Florissant; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren, and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
