BENTON, Mo. -- LaDonna Lynne Laub, 54, of Benton passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 30, 1962, to William and Iva Mae Laub. She previously was married to Dennis Sparks of Cape Girardeau, who preceded her in death.
LaDonna worked over 30 years as a legal secretary for Spradling and Spradling of Cape Girardeau, and before her early retirement due to health issues, she was the legal secretary for the city of Cape Girardeau.
LaDonna's passion was her love for music. She was lead singer for the band Dustin Ashe in the early '80s. She also sang with the bands Numbrz and Strutter.
She loved her kitties, Frisco and Cally, her beautiful roses and NASCAR.
Survivors include two sisters, Kim Laub (Mike Scott) of Sikeston, Missouri, and Janice (Jarit) Keith of Jackson; three nephews, Quinton Boardman of Sikeston, Mason (Kristen) Boardman of Sikeston and Kevin Keith of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Heather Storrey Roth of Springfield, Missouri; two great-nieces, Kadynce and Linly Mae Boardman of Sikeston; and grandson, Davin Roth of Springfield, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Harold Laub; her mother, Iva Mae Bohannon Laub and her brother, Lanny Joe Laub.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, Missouri.
