LaDeva Ann Enderle of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at Daybreak Nursing Home in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born May 11, 1947, to Raymond and Evelyn Henderson Buhs.

LaDeva received 14 years of Catholic education, first at St Mary's, then Notre Dame, and finally at St. John's Mercy in St. Louis, where she attained her nursing degree.

On Aug. 17, 1968, she married David Anthony Enderle and proceeded to follow him across the globe as he served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Together, they had two children.

After his retirement in 1986, they permanently moved back to Cape Girardeau, where she became a public health nurse. She spent 25 years working for Cape Girardeau County Health Department. She weighed, measured and vaccinated hundreds of children and was deeply fulfilled by her work. After her retirement, she continued volunteering at annual flu clinics across the heartland.

LaDeva loved her children and grandchildren and would do anything she could for them. She and Dave loved to get ice cream and go looking for deer in the evenings. In 2021, Dave died suddenly, and her world turned upside down. She spent the last two years in assisted living at The Arbors at Auburn Creek battling Alzheimer's.
