JONESBORO, Ill. -- L. Doyle Brown Sr., 82, of Jonesboro died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born Dec. 11, 1914, at Mill Creek, Ill., son of Robert Nalley and Mamie Dillow Brown. He married Ruth Jane Acklin on Aug. 27, 1946, at Union City, Tenn. She survives...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- L. Doyle Brown Sr., 82, of Jonesboro died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born Dec. 11, 1914, at Mill Creek, Ill., son of Robert Nalley and Mamie Dillow Brown.

He married Ruth Jane Acklin on Aug. 27, 1946, at Union City, Tenn. She survives.

He retired from Lewis Brothers Bakery in Anna after 25 years of service.

Survivors include a son, L. Doyle Brown Jr. of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters, Roberta Keller of Murphysboro and June King of Melbourne, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Cripps officiating. Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery.
