PERRYVILLE -- Kristi Lynn Shaffer, 15, of Perryville, died in a car accident Thursday, Dec. 2, 1993, on Interstate 55 two miles south of the Cape Girardeau-Perry County line.
She was born Oct. 18, 1978, in Manhattan, Kan., daughter of John C. and Brenda Scurlock Shaffer. She was a freshman at Perryville High School.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Brenda and Rodger Hunter of Perryville; father and stepmother, John and Greta Shaffer of Garnett, Kan.; two brothers, John and Jason Shaffer of Perryville; a stepbrother, Bradley Hunter of Perryville; a stepsister, Mae Shaffer of Garnett; paternal grandmother, Helen Shaffer of Greenville, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Mary Scurlock of Perryville; stepgrandparents, Dee Hunter of Willow Springs, Marvin and Carol Mersman of Garnett, and great-stepgrandparents, Stanley and Lucille Horak of Willow Springs.
She was preceded in death by both grandfathers.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Ron Brand will officiate, with burial in Long Hollow Cemetery at Evening Shade.
