Kirk Dunnavant

Pastor Kirk Dunnavant, 63, resident of Cape Girardeau, gained his angel wings Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 2, 1957, to the Rev. Kirk Edward Dunnavant of Nashville, Tennessee, and Joyce C. Fletcher of Toledo, Ohio.

He was the proud pastor of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Marston, Missouri, for the past 16 years. His passion was his walk with Christ and serving the people of God. He was fondly called "Everybody's pastor."

He was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Dunnavant.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Denise Dunnavant; parents; children, Kirk Gaiter, Pierre Young, Dominique Young and Christian Dunnavant; sisters, Michelle Dunnavant, Renee (Tony) Craig and Lisa Dunnavant; and brothers, Pastor Michael (Christine) Hopewell, the Rev. Flynn Dunnavant, Apostle David Dunnavant, Shawn Dunnavant, Michael Peterson, Jason Dunnavant and Terrance Dunnavant.

A walk-through visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Good Hope M.B. Church in Marston. Private funeral service for family members, Good Hope Church members and the clergy will begin at 1 p.m., with Bishop Ronnie Webb eulogizing and Bishop Calvin Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
