Kevin G. Smith, 46, of Valles Mines, Mo., died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Parkland Medical Center in Farmington, Mo., of a sudden heart attack.
He was born June 3, 1958, in Peoria, Ill., son of C. Hughie and Maxine Smith. He and Mary K. Buchheit were married Feb. 25, 1979.
Smith was a 1976 graduate of Jackson High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in animal science from Murray State University.
He was owner/operator of Kevin Smith Farrier Service. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in French Village, Mo.
Smith served eight years in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Desert Storm.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, 2nd Lt. Cormac Smith with the U.S. Army in Korea, Ian Smith of the home; two daughters, Tara (Michael) Baca of Mountain Home, Idaho, Brianna Smith of the home; his parents of Jackson; two sisters, Dr. Robin Dyer of Tulsa, Okla., Sonja (Ken) Davis of Jackson; a brother, C.W. (Shirley) Hughey of Texas; and a granddaughter, Allison Baca of Mountain Home.
Friends may call at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, Mo., from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, Mo., with the Rev. Donald Dalton officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery at French Village.
