WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Kevin W. McGuire of Westerville passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017. Kevin was born in Chaffee, Missouri. WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Kevin W. McGuire of Westerville passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Kevin was born in Chaffee, Missouri.

He was a 1978 graduate of Chaffee High School and a 1982 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned a degree in aerospace engineering. He also earned a master's degree in Engineering Management from the Catholic University of America.

He served in the Submarine Force aboard the USS Pollack and the USS Woodrow Wilson.

After separating from the Navy, Kevin's career eventually led him to Columbus, Ohio, where he worked at Hexion and his family settled down. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Parish and enjoyed his free time riding his bicycle and playing fetch with his best friend, Holly. His greatest satisfaction came in any chance he had to connect and spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, C.J. McGuire.

He is survived by his mother, Linda; his wife, Kathleen; their children, Erin, Gavin, Patrick and Kerry; his brother, Jay; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State St. in Westerville. The Rev. Charles Klinger will be celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chaffee High School, Kevin McGuire Memorial. Attention: Superintendent's Office, 517 W. Yoakum Ave., Chaffee, MO 63740.
