Kermit L. Shetley, 94, of Cape Girardeau was born June 23, 1927, at Marquand, Missouri, the son of Leonard and Irene Moser Shetley. He passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Cape Girardeau.
He married Trula Lee on Aug. 26, 1951.
Kermit served in the Navy during World War II.
He worked as a Chevrolet mechanic for several years. After graduating from electronic trade school, he worked as an electronic technician for Radonics Electronic and then Sears, where he retired after 30 years.
After retirement, Kermit was able to devote more time to his love for bluegrass music. He was a talented musician and played music with his band, The Happy Four.
Kermit is survived by his wife Trula; two sons, Dennis (Kathy) Shetley and David (Barbara) Shetley; two grandsons, John T. Shetley and Ryan (Joyce) Shetley; and two great-grandsons, James and Maximus.
Kermit was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Shetley.
Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
