PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kent J. Bohnert, 81, of Perryville died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.
He was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Longtown, Mo., son of Herman and Frieda Kiefer Bohnert. He and Jeannette Evans were married Oct. 24, 1953. She survives in Perryville.
Kent worked at International Shoe Co. and was a warehouse operator at Gilster Mary-Lee. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post 133 and AMVETS Post 94; he was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Other survivors include one daughter and two sons, JoAnn (Michael) Gross of Ellis Grove, Ill., Randy (Kimberly) Bohnert of Paducah, Ky., and Jerry (Marilyn) Bohnert of Perryville; one sister, Rita Lintner of Perryville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clark and Paul.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, with American Legion wake at 6 p.m. and parish wake at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with military graveside honors by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred for family use.
