Kenneth Roger Sumner, 76, of Scott City died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at his home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1939, to James and Edna Virginia Keppner Sumner in Cairo, Illinois.
He was a maintenance worker at Rhodes Truck Stop in Scott City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Kenneth is survived by a son, Kenneth J. Sumner of Crystal River, Florida; a daughter, Marilyn Pitz of Marion, Illinois; three sisters, Marilyn Schildt of Murphysboro, Illinois, Judy Sharp of Metropolis, Illinois, and Peggy Kelley of Killeen, Texas; two nephews, Joe Sumner and Ronnie Sumner of Scott City; three nieces, Angela Cutter of Jackson, Rebecca Carte of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Virginia Ford of Lakeview, Arkansas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
Graveside service with full military rites will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
