Kenneth Norman Steffens, 64, of Cape Girardeau lost his battle with cancer, but gained his place in heaven surrounded by the love of his family Wednesday, June 3, 2015.

He was born May 7, 1951, in Clarinda, Iowa, to Norman Henry and Irma Meier Steffens. He and Wanda Doberenz Steffens were married June 5, 1971, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

He served on several boards at Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed many years in the choir. He loved doing woodwork, hunting, fishing and watching his grandkids grow up.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; a son, Jeffrey Steffens (friend, Kristen Stratman) of Jefferson City, Missouri; a daughter, Shelly (Cliff) Williams of Holts Summit, Missouri; a sister, Kathy (Clifford) Stueve of Frohna, Missouri; three grandchildren, Benjamin Steffens of Jefferson City, Savannah and Ava Williams of Holts Summit; and friends, Kaylee and Brayden Stratman of Jefferson City.
