MOREHOUSE -- Kenneth Sexton, 74, of Appleton, Ark., formerly of Morehouse, died Friday, Dec. 22, 1995, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born April 4, 1921, in Canalou, son of James Allen and Lillie Gilliam Sexton.

He was a retired carpenter and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston.

He was inducted into the SEMO Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.

He married Viva J. Hillis on June 22, 1940, in Essex. She preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 1985. He then married Nina R. Fay on March 26, 1986, in Appleton. She survives.

He is also survived by a son, Dale Sexton of Sikeston; a stepson, Myron Fay of Appleton; a stepdaughter, Jackie Chisum of Appleton; a sister, Marilyn Kinsey of Sikeston; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jerry Harris, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery.
