SIKESTON -- Kenneth Edward Johnson, 83, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Center, following an extended illness.
He was born July 8, 1914, at Union, son of Edward and Josephine Barebo Johnson. He and Norma Tatum were married Dec. 11, 1937.
Formerly of East Prairie, Johnson lived in Mississippi County most of his life until moving to Sikeston a year ago. He was a retired farmer, and member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Johnson of Sikeston, Jeff Johnson of Melber, Ky., Tim Johnson of East Prairie; a daughter, Ruth Redfering of East Prairie; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Lause officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
