Kenneth B. Foster, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at the Lutheran Home. He was born Jan. 26, 1911, in Waldron, Kan., son of Charles and Maude Todd Foster. He and Edith Brown were married Sept. 11, 1938, in Partridge, Kan. She died June 30, 1987...

Kenneth B. Foster, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1911, in Waldron, Kan., son of Charles and Maude Todd Foster. He and Edith Brown were married Sept. 11, 1938, in Partridge, Kan. She died June 30, 1987.

Kenneth graduated from Anthony High School in 1929, and attended Wichita University.

From 1932-36 he was deputy sheriff in Harper County. He owned and operated Anthony Laundry and Dry Cleaners 38 years, from 1936-74.

He was very active in community affairs in Anthony, having served as library board member, hospital board member and president, Industrial Development Commission board member, member of Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce, and school board member and president.

Kenneth also was a member of First Congregational Church in Anthony, Kan., the Masonic Lodge, York Rite and Shriners in Anthony. He lived in Anthony and Harper County, Kan., until moving to the Lutheran Home in 1997.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane Karen and Richard Daume of Cape Girardeau, Nancy Leigh and Richard Ross of Corinth, Texas; a sister, Clarice Foster Burchfiel of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Anne Kathryn Ross and Michael Foster Ross of Corinth; a nephew, Stan Burchfiel of Dallas; and a niece, Mary Carol McClure of Shreveport, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ann Carolyn Foster; and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-6:30 p.m. today, and at Williams Funeral Home in Anthony from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday.

A funeral service will be held from 6:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church in Anthony. Private graveside service will be held at Forest Park Cemetery in Anthony.
