Kenneth "Ken" Evans, 71, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at his home.
Born Feb. 4, 1951, in Cape Girardeau County, he was the youngest of five sons born to Newton Samuel and Gertrude Louisa Johnson Evans.
He worked nearly 30 years, in numerous capacities, at Procter & Gamble, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fruitland.
Ken enjoyed an active and social lifestyle. His many hobbies included boating, skiing, motorcycle rides with friends, hunting and farming. He was an avid reader and well versed on many topics, always making for interesting conversation. He will truly be missed by many friends and family.
To cherish his memory, Ken leaves a brother, Ted (Mary) Evans of Clarkston, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (late Wayne) Evans of Gordonville and Dianne (late Robert) Evans of Clarkston, Michigan; nieces and nephews, Tammy (Steve) Obermann of Cape Girardeau, Michelle Evans (Jennifer Drury) of Whitewater, Troy (Jody) Evans of Lake Orion, Michigan, Julianne (Jim) Freer of Milford, Michigan, and Toby Evans of Clarkston; several great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert, Michael "Mike" and Wayne Evans.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Dr. Rodney Pensel will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery near Fruitland.
Friends and family will gather Saturday, April 15, for an informal celebration to further honor Ken's life.
