SIKESTON, Mo. -- Kenneth Earl Dickson, 72, of Sikeston died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at his home.
He was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Sikeston, son of Robert J. and Earline Jones Dickson. He and Lova Simmons were married Oct. 24, 1959, in East Prairie, Mo.
Dickson was a self-employed truck driver and had worked for Baggett Trucking Co. in Birmingham, Ala., and Pullen Brothers Trucking in Sikeston. He was transportation supervisor with CDTA Driver Training Academy four years.
He was a paratrooper in Japan with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Allen and Kenny Grimes of Matthews, Mo., Robert Dickson of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Connie Grimes of Sikeston, Dona Tilley of Puxico, Mo.; his mother of Sikeston; two sisters, Shirley Littleton and Ramona Kyle of Sikeston; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a son and a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. James Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
