PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kenneth Russell Bergman, 92, of Perryville died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
He was born May 31, 1922, in Perry County, the son of Carl F. Bergman and Onedia W. Ochs Bergman.
He was baptized June 18, 1922, at Freidenburg Evangelical Lutheran Peace Church by the Rev. Roak. He was confirmed April 14, 1935, at Freidenburg Evangelical Lutheran Peace Church by the Rev. William Gieselmann.
His confirmation verse was John 15:5: "I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit, for without he can do nothing."
He married Jeanette Margret Koch of New Wells on July 15, 1950, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in St. Louis by pastor Herman Etzold. Jeanette preceded him in death April 8, 2012.
Kenneth was a grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Survivors are nieces and caregivers, Karen (Dale) Bronenkant and Gail (the late Kevin) Weinkein.
Other nieces and nephews are Virginia Dickmann Byant, Carolyn Bergman, Glenn Dickmann, Kevin Dickmann, Roger Bergman and Brian Bergman; a great-nephew, Scott (Stephanie) Bronen-kant; and one brother, Carl (Marion) Bergman Jr.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; one sister, Leila Dickmann; one brother, Willard Bergman; and one niece, Kathleen Bergman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 6:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Thomas Handrick Sr. will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
The family requests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund or Southeast Hospice.
