PUXICO -- Kenneth Gene Allen, 70, of Puxico died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of Eugene and Hazel Grimes Allen. He and Stella Clutts were married May 21, 1948, in Cape Girardeau.
Allen worked in the plumbing and heating department at Montgomery Ward 35 years, retiring in 1986 as head of the department. He then owned and operated Ken's Used Cars five years.
Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Allen of El Segundo, Calif.; his mother of Jackson; a sister, Ruth Schwartz of Cape Girardeau; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Carl Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
