Robert Keith Allen Ward, 48, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, in San Salvador, El Salvador.

He was born Dec. 28, 1958, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert and Irma Greene Ward. He and Karen Nickels were married April 23, 1983, in Cape Girardeau.

Ward was a graduate of Central High School. He was an Awana leader and was active in Promise Keepers and youth work ministry 24 years.

He was a member of Fruitland Community Church, and was a full-time missionary with Fruitland Community Church and Missouri Baptist Convention in El Salvador. He formerly worked for Bunny Bread.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Cape Girardeau; a son, Matthew Ward of Everett, Wash.; two daughters, Christa Ward and Jeanie (Tom) Raynard of Chaffee, Mo.; two grandchildren, Thomas Sky Raynard and Elizabeth Star Raynard of Chaffee, and a brother, Steven Ward of Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at Cape Bible Chapel. The Rev. Mike Parry will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Fruitland Community Church.
