PUXICO, Mo. -- Phyllis Kaye Smith, 59, of Puxico died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at her home.
She was born Jan. 22, 1941, at Parma, Mo., daughter of Herschel and Winona Pullum Ledbetter. She and Howard L. Smith were married May 30, 1960, in Charleston, Mo.
Smith was a cashier at Homestead Distributing Co. 13 years, worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston, Mo., 16 years, and at Wallace and Owens Grocery Store in Dexter, Mo., two years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Bryant of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Tracy Massey of Bloomfield, Mo.; a half brother, the Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter of Essex, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter officiating. Cremation will follow.
