EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Kattie Marie Fennema of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Church of God. Larry Smith will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
Fennema, 93, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at her home.
She was born Nov. 10, 1904, in East Prairie, daughter of Jack and Sarah Elizabeth Kelly Pugh. She and Edward N. Fennema were married Dec. 16, 1922. He died July 31, 1984.
Fennema lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a child-care provider and was known as Aunt Kate.
She was a member of First Church of God and had taught Sunday School. She had been a den mother, was active in the grandmother program at East Prairie Schools and was named Kiwanis Woman of the Year in 1972.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Davis of East Prairie, 13 grandchildren, including Jan and Jon Schramm whom she reared, and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, two brothers and a grandson.
