Katie Driskell

Katie Elizabeth Driskell, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Jan. 18, 1928, in Salem, Ky., to C. Perry and Grace P. McGlothin Mott. She and Isaac H. Driskell were married June 4, 1947, at Arbor, Mo. He preceded her in death April 20, 2010.

Driskell was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 3838.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Driskell (Gerry) and Larry Driskell (Rebecca) of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Frances Farrow (Gene) and Phyllis Farrow (Junior) of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Thomas E. Mott (Betty) of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Gipson officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
