CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Mary Kathlyn "Katie" Bond, 90, of Chaffee passed away, Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at the Chaffee Nursing Center. She now is in heaven with her heavenly father and her loving husband, who called her "The Queen of 314." Katie was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Chaffee, daughter of the late Rev. William Ernest and Mary Elizabeth Lynch Lee. She married Gordon W. "Pete" Bond on March 16, 1947, and he preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2009...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Mary Kathlyn "Katie" Bond, 90, of Chaffee passed away, Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at the Chaffee Nursing Center. She now is in heaven with her heavenly father and her loving husband, who called her "The Queen of 314."

Katie was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Chaffee, daughter of the late Rev. William Ernest and Mary Elizabeth Lynch Lee. She married Gordon W. "Pete" Bond on March 16, 1947, and he preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2009.

She was a member of Chaffee First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday school class.

She had worked as a waitress at the Chaffee Dairy Queen.

Survivors include a son, Mike (Diana) Bond of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Sue (Jack) Wessel of Gordonville and Jan (Bob) Gile of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Wesley and Joshua Bond, Kristin Farmer and Todd Wessel; three stepgrandchildren, Matthew, John and Elizabeth Gile; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Alyssa Bond, James Grant and Katie Sophia Farmer; a brother, William "Bill" (Jean) Lee Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.; and a sister, Betty Barnes of Pensacola.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

The family requests memorials go to Chaffee First Baptist Church.
