Kathryn “Kathy” Lynn Friedrich, 56, of Jackson passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 2, 1963, in Cape Girardeau to Ralph H. and Doris E. “Jennie” Steinhoff Friedrich. Kathy was a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School. Many people will remember her for her sweet smile and kind wit. She worked the past 10 years at Casey’s General Store on West Independence Street in Jackson and was previously employed in other local convenience stores...

Kathryn “Kathy” Lynn Friedrich, 56, of Jackson passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 2, 1963, in Cape Girardeau to Ralph H. and Doris E. “Jennie” Steinhoff Friedrich.

Kathy was a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School. Many people will remember her for her sweet smile and kind wit. She worked the past 10 years at Casey’s General Store on West Independence Street in Jackson and was previously employed in other local convenience stores.

Kathy was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and was a former member of Job’s Daughters in Jackson. Her hobbies were reading, traveling, computer games and spending time with her sister’s dog, Max.

Loving survivors include four siblings, Jennifer Friedrich Cook of League City, Texas, Jim Friedrich of Jackson, Nonie (Anthony) Cowell of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Mary (John) Thompson of Jackson; 10 nieces and nephews, Allison Jenkins, Rick Cook, Ria Reed, Rika Friedrich, Luke Cowell, Toni Cowell, Blake Friedrich, Trent Friedrich, Emily Thompson and Sara Thompson; five great-nieces and great-nephews, Zach Moore, Elliot Cowell, Hunter Harris-Friedrich, Britton Harris and Wednesday Jenkins; and her canine pal, Max Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Allen K. Friedrich.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
