PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kathy A. Fischer, 44, of Perryville died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 21, 1959, at Perryville, daughter of Troy S. and Mildred Glaub Kiefer. She and Bill J. Fischer were married July 9, 1983...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kathy A. Fischer, 44, of Perryville died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 21, 1959, at Perryville, daughter of Troy S. and Mildred Glaub Kiefer. She and Bill J. Fischer were married July 9, 1983.

Fischer had been a music teacher at Perryville Elementary School since 1999. Prior to that she was a kindergarten and an elementary music teacher at St. Vincent de Paul School from 1985 to 1999.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and former choir director and accompanist, current choir member at The Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, Daughters of Isabella, Missouri State Teachers Association and Missouri Music Educators Association.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Christopher, Zachary and Joel Fischer, all of the home; her mother of Perryville; five brothers, Michael, Troy and Daniel Kiefer of Perryville, Kenneth Kiefer of Jackson, Dwight Kiefer of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Louise Finger and Mary Hoehn of Perryville.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. A wake will be held at 7 tonight. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Revs. Kevin Fausz and Charles Shelby officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
