KATHRYN WELTER

MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Kathryn Welter, 69, died in her home in Mound City on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997.

She was born in Charleston, Mo. on Nov. 28, 1928. She married Herbert Welter on April 24, 1947. He died Oct. 9, 1989. She was a homemaker and the daughter of John Calvin Johnson and Stella Christine (Scherer) Johnson.

She is survived by a son, Herbie Welter Jr. of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Mrs. Douglas Voelker of Cape Girardeau and Mrs. Barry Allen of Arnold, Mo.; a sister, Glenda Farris of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and a friend, Ray Noble, of Mound City.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. today in McCombs Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Services will follow, beginning at 11. Interment will take place following the service in the Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
