Kathryn Surface

Kathryn Marie Surface, 85, of Delta passed away Friday, April 17, 2015, at the family home.

She was born July 15, 1929, at Randles, to the late Fred and Nora Haman Lynn.

Kathryn was married Oct. 30, 1948, to Leslie L. Surface at Piggett, Arkansas, and he survives of the home.

She worked as an inspector at Florscheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau. She later became a housekeeper at Cape La Croix Nursing Home, where she enjoyed working around the older people. Her last job before retiring was in the laundry and housekeeping departments at Southeast Hospital.

Kathryn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delta, where she received recognition for 65 years of service to the church.

Survivors include her husband, Leslie; two daughters, Pam (Jim) Dunn and Sandy Spane of Delta; and a grandson, Ryan (Bree) Dunn of Advance.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Albert and Lloyd Lynn; and two sisters, Lucille Meyer and Frances Surlet.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Alvie Surface officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Delta First Baptist Church or Southeast Hospice.
