Kathryn Ruth Smith, 80, of Delta died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 2, 1924, in Baldwin, N.C., daughter of Hamilton Donely and Ruth Alma Greer Edwards. She and Clyde Harold Smith were married Nov. 6, 1943, in Elkton, Md. He died May 1, 1993.
Smith retired as custodian at Delta Grade School. She worked at Triumph Explosives Inc. in Elkton during World War II. She was a lifetime member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Asheville, N.C., and attended the General Baptist Church at Arbor, Mo.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Smith of Jefferson City, Mo., Bob Smith of Chaffee; a daughter, Donna Cannon of Chaffee; a sister, Peggy Rinehart of Biglerville, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Kermit Patton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Arbor.
