Kathryn Dorothy Daniels, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Jan. 26, 1911, in Glasgow, Mo., to Harry and Rebecca Salzer Huber. She was the middle child in the family. Her parents, sister, and brother preceded her in death.

On June 4, 1930, she married W.H. "Bill" Daniels. They celebrated 52 years of marriage in 1982. He preceded her in death June 9, 1982.

Mrs. Daniels was a homemaker and for many years assisted her husband in the family business, Cape Frozen Foods, 207 Broadway in Cape Girardeau, which they established in the fall of 1944 and operated until April 1971. They also established Jackson Frozen Foods in Jackson, Mo., in 1948 and operated it until 1972 when the business was sold.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau 52 years and was active in her Sunday School class and the Women's Missionary Union.

Survivors include two children: a daughter, Barbara A. Popp and husband John of Jackson; a son, Michael A. Daniels and wife Bonnie of Vienna, Va.; six grandchildren, Steven Popp of Jackson, Chief Master Sgt. David Popp of Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany, Betsy Popp Schultz of Ft. Collins, Colo., Michael Daniels II of Boulder, Colo., Chris Daniels of Los Angeles, Sander Daniels of Vienna, Va.; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Blaylock will officiate.

A private family graveside service was held Jan. 11 at Cape County Memorial Park.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
