Kathryn "Kitty" Burton-Jolls, 77, of Cape Girardeau was called to join our Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, to Charles Burton and Lila Rauh Burton-Ware. She met and married Air Force Cadet Richard "Max" Jolls on March 28, 1953. He preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1982.
They traveled from Enid, Okla., to San Antonio to West Chicago, where Max became a captain with United Airlines.
Burton-Jolls was a 1950 graduate of Central High School. After her marriage, she held several secretarial jobs, including the George J. Ball Co. in West Chicago where she worked many years.
She is survived by a son, Michael R. (Carleen) Jolls of Wilmette, Ill.; a daughter, Jennifer Jolls of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Michael M., Timothy and Daniel of Wilmette; a sister, JoAnn Bock of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Ann Jolls of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; several nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dick Cissell; and a stepbrother, David Ware.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with Pastor Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the family or Salvation Army and will be accepted at the funeral home.
