Kathleen Josephine Keesee, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Kelso, Missouri.
She was born April 24, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Leo and Helen Diebold Ourth. She and William W. Keesee were married Oct. 26, 1963, at Mount Clemens, Michigan. He preceded her in death Jan. 20, 2021.
Kathleen was a graduate of Notre Dame High School.
She worked at Clothes Encounter for a number of years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. She was very active in pro-life ministry with Semo Lifesavers, Voice for Life and Missouri Right to Life. She was also past-president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus councils 1111 and 11205.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie (Wes) Drury of Kelso and Cindy (Bryan Smith) Keesee of Jackson; son, Bill (Heather Minton) Keesee of Jackson; sister, Janet (Glen) Ivy of Kevil, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Michaela (Matt) Hayes, Maria (Michael) Branum, Kevin (Mikel) Drury, Kolbe Drury, Evan Keesee, Dylan (Carrie) Lang, Lilly Keesee, Alayna Smith and McKenzie Smith; and six great-grandchildren, Abigail Hayes, Alexis Hayes, Titus Branum, Aiden Drury, Benjamin Drury and Mara Lang.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Francie Heuring; and two brothers, Richard and Herbert "Denny" Ourth.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. with Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following.
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
