KATHERINE POST

Katherine Post, 82, of Herndon, Va., died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, in Herndon.

She was the daughter of Julien N. and Bertha Rector Friant. Her father was president of Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents in the early 1930s. Her mother was president of the Women's National Democratic Club during the administration of President Harry Truman.

She and Nelson J. Post were married in 1941.

Formerly of Cape Girardeau, she was a graduate of Central High School. She was also a graduate of Trinity College in Washington, D.C.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Julienne Brownrigg of Dundalk, Md., Nelson Post Jr. of Tunkhannock, Pa.; a brother, John Friant of Berryville, Va.; and four grandchildren.
