Katherine Millham

Katherine Margaret Millham, 91, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 13, 1915, in Skamokawa, Wash., daughter of John Daniel and Katherine Kinsfather Patterson. She and the Rev. Wilmot J. Millham were married Feb. 10, 1934. He passed away June 10, 1982.

In her early years, Katherine was a preschool teacher, worked for J.C. Penney and worked in the insurance industry. She assisted her husband with his ministry at United Methodist churches in Dogwood, Parma, Cabool, House Springs, Kennett and Elsberry, Mo. They retired in Poplar Bluff, Mo. In 1984 Katherine moved to Jackson.

Katherine was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson, Dorcas Circle, Roberts Homemakers Club and Jackson TOPS.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Katherine Esther (Sam) Caponio of Concord, Calif.; two sons, Warren David (Judy) Millham of St. Charles, Mo., Craig Jay (Carla) Millham of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Millham of Kansas City, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wilmot Johnson Millham Jr.; a daughter, Margot Annabelle Warren; a granddaughter, Melanie Jean Millham; and nine siblings.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and Friday at New McKendree United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. until service time.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
