Katherine Midkiff

DEXTER, Mo. -- Katherine T. Midkiff, 83, of Dexter died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 24, 1923, at Kennett, Mo., daughter of Thomas Pinkney and Donnie Dot Haynes Davis. She and George Thomas Midkiff were married June 1, 1937, at Kennett. He died Oct. 3, 1986.

Midkiff was a member of Bell City General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert Midkiff of Dexter; six daughters, Kay Hughes of Advance, Mo., Margie Morgan of Dexter, Donna Ray, Melinda Midkiff and Mary Buckley of Sikeston, Mo., Teresa Grisham of Bell City; a friend, Clete Cox of Dexter; 25 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, four sisters and two half brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance, with the Rev. Dean Williams officiating.
