KATHERINE BEARDSLEE

COMMERCE -- Katherine Savannah Beardslee, 82, of Commerce died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Beardslee was born Oct. 4, 1916, daughter of Effie Knight and Lawrence Pobst Sr. She and William P. Beardslee were married July 18, 1942, at Commerce.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church at Commerce and was a member of U.M.W. of the church.

She is survived by five daughters, Kay Allen of Benton, Fay Weber of Jackson, Finae Shoaf of Morley, Carla Tilley of Cape Girardeau, Karma Beardslee of Scott City; two brothers, Lawrence Pobst Jr. of Commerce and Marshall Pobst of Scott City; four sisters, Tillie Mae Pobst, Florence Edmonds, Mary Pickens and Pauline Kraft, all of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Beardslee was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, two sisters and a grandchild.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Scott City.

Additional visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Commerce.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Jim King officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
