ANNA, Ill. -- Kate Smith Brown, 70, of Anna, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.
She was born July 4, 1934, at West Frankfort, Ill., daughter of Walter and Gemima Melton Beltz.
She was married to Bobby Smith. He preceded her in death in 1997.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 and the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include four sons, Floyd Tellor of Buncombe, Ill., Elmer Tellor of Dongola, Ill., Bobby Smith of Chicago, Ill., and Walter Smith of Anna; two daughters, Darlene Brown of Jonesboro, Ill., and Belinda Peterman of Carbondale; four sisters, Ethel, Florine, Ellen and Myrtle; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two infant daughters and two brothers.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. with Bryan Morrison officiating.
Burial will be in Kelley Cemetery.
