CEDAR HILL, Mo. -- Kate Pauline Bond, 93, of Cedar Hill died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at her home.
She was born June 20, 1929, in Chester, Illinois, to William and Freida Dunnerman Menke. She was baptized and confirmed at Evangelical Peace Lutheran Church in Chester. She and John Franklin Bond were married July 3, 1953, at the First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 2009.
She worked as a stitcher for Florsheim Shoe, retiring at age 62.
Survivors include her stepson, John David (Pat) Bond of Farmington, New Mexico; stepdaughter, Beverley K. (Akiva) Belk of Cedar Hill; two nieces, Darlene (Johnny) Shivar of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Willetta (Steve) McCulloh of Redondo Beach, California; three stepnieces, Sandy (Michael) Rahlfs of Leota, Minnesota, Stephanie Franks of St. Louis and Peggy Sue (John) Bond Falwell of Cape Girardeau; and too many other relatives to mention.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Viola Menke Bayer; two stepsisters, Jane and Hope Yankey; and a stepbrother, John Lee Yankey.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
