Karen M. Shackles, 63, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Feb. 23, 1957, in Cairo, Illinois, to Martha Bledsoe. Karen married Kenneth Shackles on June 24, 1994. He survives.
Karen worked as a pharmacy technician at Broadway Prescription. She enjoyed crocheting and boating with Ken. Karen also loved her church choir and occasional karaoke. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Karen is survived by her husband, Kenneth Shackles of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Jacqueline Tedder of Cape Girardeau and Christy (Billy) Hansen of Columbus, Ohio; son, Joseph (Christy) Gibbs of Jackson; grandchildren, Gwenith and Gretchen Tedder, Katlyn Scarborough, Siren Hansen, Josie and Watson Gibbs and Madison and Derek Staten; brother, Jimmy (Darlene) Haines of Sikeston, Missouri; and a dear aunt, Lynne (Clifford) Barborek of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by her mother and sister, Marty Bingham.
Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
