Karen McCabe

PATTON, Mo. -- Karen L. McCabe, 60, of Patton passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at Southeast Hospital after battling pancreatic cancer.

She was born Aug. 8, 1956, in Elgin, Illinois, the third daughter of Billy Gene and Goldee M. Hahs. She married Kevin McCabe on Aug. 4, 1990.

Karen will be remembered for her humor and for her extraordinary passion for animals. She will be missed beyond measure.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin McCabe; her son, Benjamin S. Hahs, and stepson, Matthew (Christina) McCabe; her grandchildren, Christopher Hahs and Madelyn and Matthew McCabe; her sisters, Beverly (Joe) Hercik, Susan Smith and Ann (Ken) Pettit; stepbrothers and -sisters Sheri Banbury, Margie (David) Jasutis and Duane, Mike and Rick Davidson; several loved nephews and nieces; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Cathy Denise; and her stepmom, Ethel.

Per her wishes, no services are planned at this time.
