Karen Sue Kinder, 66, of Scott City died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 21, 1944, at Joplin, Mo., to Irvin and Ruth LaJune Standiford Wheeler. She and Dallas Kinder were married Oct. 26, 1985, in Illmo. He preceded her in death June 15, 1999.
She was a receptionist/bookkeeper for Scott City Animal Clinic. She was a member of Illmo Methodist Church in Scott City.
Survivors include a son, Tim Simmons of San Diego; a daughter, Kim Pettit of Scott City; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Woods of Perryville, Mo.; a stepson, Glenn Ray Kinder of Scott City; a brother, Dennis Wheeler of Jackson; a sister, Janet Gilbert of Cape Girardeau; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepdaughter.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel with the Rev. Jim Woeltje officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
