LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Karen Emelia Crites Horn, 72, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in Little Rock.
She was born Nov. 7, 1946, in Cape Girardeau to the late Betty Virginia Heuer Crites and the late Earl Crites Jr.
Karen graduated from Jackson High School in 1964.
She retired from Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau after many dedicated years of helping patients and families in patient registration and billing.
She is survived by her sons, Michael LeeRoy (Tina) Schaefer and Christopher Lee (Randi) Schaefer; brother, Jeff Crites; sisters, Janet Hudson, Diane Dodd and Sherry Schaper; her beloved grandchildren, Kolton Schaefer, Kameron Schaefer, Joshua Schaefer, Julia Schaefer, Zachary Schaefer and Alexander Schaefer; and great-grandson, Deacon Schaefer.
Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Crites.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. May 11 at Hanover Lutheran Church, 2949 Perryville Road in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 5 p.m. May 11 at the church. Immediately following, there will be a graveside service at Cape County Memorial Park, 2315 U.S. 61 in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Karen's name be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
