DUTCHTOWN -- Funeral service for Kathryn Beatrice Langston of Dutchtown will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. John Owen will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Langston, 83, died Monday, Sept. 18, 1995, at her home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1912, in Oxford, Miss., daughter of John Henry and Katherine Mize Wolfe. She and Dennis Nelson Langston were married July 26, 1930, in Jonesboro, Ill. He died Sept. 19, 1955.
She and her husband owned and operated Langston's Store many years. She was also postmaster at Dutchtown from Dec. 21, 1950 to June 30, 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and the Postmaster Association.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Langston of Hazelwood, James Langston of Bethalto, Ill.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters and two brothers.
